I want to go home!

Too hot to go climbing mountains today. 46C. It was the hottest day I've experienced in the outdoors. There was nowhere but driving on dusty roads in the car with air con on or bathing in a very exposed swimming pool full of floating dead flies and other insects. It was a lifesaver though and we just stood waste deep in there most of the day with fly nets pulled over our sun hats.
Wasps,March flies, bees, bull ants and sugar ants, even a white tailed spider joined us around the pools edge.
At 6.30pm the temperature had dropped to a low 38 and we managed to find the only local pub 30k's away to have some dinner. Heavenly!
We are sunburnt after our very trying day. The most difficult was the thousands of flies to contend with. Even though we had nets over our sun hats they flew through or crawled up underneath!
Added to this drama was a threatening toothache. Our tent was too hot to lie down in, even though it was free from the flies.
We decided to leave the ranges till another time of the year and head for Denmark. Even the name of the place sounds cooler and greener.
