Have been laid low today :( and need some healing prayers.
I stupidly stopped taking some thyroid medication about a month ago when the prescription expired and I thought I would be okay, but instead the symptoms hit me hard today. Mine is an overactive thyroid and I guess everyone has different symptoms. I'm lying here with spasmodic aches in my head, back, left elbow, knees and my right little finger of all places! Reminds me of that ache you get in your arm after an immunisation. I feel so lethargic and feverish but at the same time hard-wired and anxious - so weird!
I'll get back to the Dr asap and get a blood test and new script. He's going to be a little annoyed that I self-medicated, or should I say non-medicated myself. Hope I'm feeling better for the Open Studio Day on Sunday and get it sorted before we go on holiday!
Next Monday, Greg and I head North to Exmouth Western Australia, for two weeks. Greg is on the internet checking out all the caravan and camping parks along the way. Going by some of the customer reviews, there are a few dodgy ones we need to avoid!
Gosh! It's dinner time all ready. Think we'll have fish and chips tonight loaded with salt & vinegar. Unhealthy but it will make me feel better hey?
I'll leave you with stage 3 & 4 of the ten stages "Creating with Confidence" by Eric Maisel. Remember that these stages apply to any creative work.
Stage 3. Choosing Your Next Subject
You can call this a stage or a moment but however you conceptualize it, choosing is a crucial part of the creative process. You have to actually decide what you are working on and then work on it with energy and intention. At some point you need the confidence to say, “I am ready to work on this.” You need the confidence to name a project clearly (even if that naming is “Now I go to the blank canvas without a pre-conceived idea and just start”), to commit to it, and to make sure that you aren’t leaking confidence even as you choose your next project.
Stage 4. Starting Your Work
When you start a new creative work you start with certain ideas for the work, certain hopes and enthusiasms, certain doubts and fears – that is, you start with an array of thoughts and feelings, some positive and some negative. The confidence you need at that moment is the confidence that you can weather all of that and the confidence to go into the unknown.
