Creative Process Completed...with confidence!

"Spiritual Guides"   60 x60 cm         $450
I know this may sound a bit strange but I often look at my paintings and ask myself what is that? Why did I end up with that image? Well it occurred to me the other day that if I created them and they have come from my soul, then what are they about? So I've taken a new approach to naming them by asking myself "What is this artwork saying about me and my soul journey?" I am getting some very deep insights to myself and possibly connecting with other people who have had similar experiences. Very exciting!
"Cleansing Fire" 60x 80 cm  $450

This painting which you saw unfinished in a recent post is titled "Spiritual Guides"is about the spiritual people, seen and unseen,  that are there to guide me through my earthly journey. I am never alone. They are always there when I need them. I am learning to be more aware of them and depend on them more for protection, direction and guidance. I've always wanted to listen to their wisdom with more trust. It is very simple but I still have "L" plates on!

The painting titled "Cleansing Fire" is about parts of myself or my behaviour that have had to die in order for new parts to come forward and shine, for a season. It is about grief and letting go, as painful as it can be at times, and trusting that new ways of being will come out of the ashes. It is about moving on. I took the photo at night and had to take a side shot to avoid the flash.

Here is Stage 2 of Eric Maisel's 'Confidence during the Creative Process'
Stage 1 Wishing
Stage 2. Incubation/Contemplation

During the second stage of the process you need to be able to remain open to what wants to come rather than defensively settling on a first idea or an easy idea. The task is remaining open and not settling for something that relieves your anxiety and your discomfort. The confidence needed here is the confidence to stay open.
