Loosing Weight

Jade, my daughter and I have challenged each other loose some weight...5 kg each to be exact. Neither of us are the sporty types but we are putting some effort into being active when we can and doing some exercise. We try to eat regular meals at appropriate times to keep the metabolism ticking over. (I tend to skip meals cos I feel fat, metabolism slows down and I end up putting weight on because the body hangs onto the calories to protect itself. 
                                                     
Jade suggested loosing 1kg a week and I suggested 5kg by the 1/4/13. We agreed to do both and I thought if I loose a kilo in a week that would be amazing progress. Anyway, we are not counting calories, just having an increased awareness about what goes into our mouths and knowing the other person cares and will be checking in with me.

These are a few guidelines that evolved over the week.

Junk food only on the weekends
If you eat any junk food or lollies during the week you text what you ate
If we over eat for comfort or deny ourselves meals then we text what's going on
We text any exercise we do
We weigh-in on Sundays only

Both Jade and I were so surprised to find at the end of the week we had both lost a kilo...in fact I losttwo! So, find a friend and start checking in with each other. It works...well at least this week it did.
