What I've Always Wanted

Oh boy! So much has been happening lately and it's all so exciting.

I already mentioned the idea of studying Art Therapy. I've been watching a load of You-Tube videos on the subject and haven't managed to put myself off yet!

Since my last post it has become very clear that I cannot stop doing my art. It is a part of who I am. I live and breathe it. I also love the fellowship of other artists, passing on what I have learned to my students and last but not least exhibiting and generating sales.

Over the next few months my work will include:

.   regular weekly InterPlay Classes with DADAA which I'm very excited about

.   I have been invited to run two sessions of InterPlay for the YouthCare staff and area chaplains      .        retreat. I love leading groups on retreat because they are usually open to relaxation, creativity and listening within

.     I have a regular flow of private students who are mostly  beginners and want to connect with their creative/spiritual self

.   I have been invited to do a demonstration of my favourite art products (Golden) in a Jacksons Art Supplies store

.   I'm planning for our regular open-to-the-public studio day on 25th August

.   Planning a joint exhibition with another artist in The Front Gallery, Midland in Sept-Oct 2013

.   I've finally got my website - myartgalleryjanetpfeiffer.com - up and running....well, up but not running yet.

.   I've organised an affordable photographer to come and take some good quality shots of all my current artwork so that I can sell paintings on my new web site

.   It has been bought to my attention that there is an art studio available to rent that is only 10 mins from my home. It is in a park and is shared by four other artists. It would be half the price of my current studio. There will probably be quite a few applicants so I'll just have to wait and see

.    In November I am away for one month while I live in as an 'artist in residence' at the Beverley Station Gallery in Beverly, an Historic Town 5 hrs away from home. Apart from manning the gallery, I will paint, have an exhibition and run workshops, maybe some InterPlay or Touch Drawing also

.    I am fortunate to have the freedom to learn and experience the Truth or God through my life, my relationships, my creativity, my conversations with mature and wise counselors, my learning and reading through technology and occasionally my church attendance. I 'll talk more about my spiritual journey in my next post

So, all the parts of my life are like jigsaw pieces and for now they are coming together to create a picture that I have been dreaming about and working towards for a very long time. I am happy. Starting to learn about Art Therapy will just top it all off perfectly I think!
